Installation

Installation you can trust! Here at Classic Rooms we have been installing Fireplaces for nigh on 30yrs. in our vast experience we realise that our customers require a full service, not just half a job – some installers do not leave a finished job as in cutting and refitting carpets /skirting boards refitted and cut to suit, the use of secret fittings so as not to damage existing decorations and most important the clean up afterwards.

Initially to lay our customers minds at rest Dave and Julie (yes a female) move any furniture to a safe place if required then envelope the room in question with dust sheets. From the workplace to the exterior, walk on sheets are then placed and affixed with tape if required. At this point we can usually hear the kettle boiling and a welcome aroma emanating from within the kitchen, but at no time do we stop for tea, its imbibed on the move. As much as we do appreciate the hospitality offered we are there to work and make the transition from an old fireplace to a new one seemless and as quick as possible (usually within the day).

We remove the old fireplace and brick up the opening or extend the opening to suit, if the flue or chimney need cleaning we have the ability and equipment to do this at this point. The rubbish created is then bagged and loaded onto the van ready for transportation to the waste depot or skip (we are licensed and approved by the environment agency to responsibly carry and dispose of waste). The re-plastering is next, if required, and the sound of the kettle is a welcome noise. The gas pipe is a necessity if you’re having a gas fire or gas stove but we don’t want to see it, we want it to look good as well as safe, that’s why we use only top quality British gas fittings (not the cheap imports) and conceal it.

The installation of your new fireplace can be a delicate affair even though they are heavy, so all hands to the ready and Dave and Julie working as a team and fit your fireplace and fire with precision and T.L.C. followed by statutory testing and a jolly good old clean up, usually to the tune of “blimey you can’t tell that you’ve been” and that my friend is a whole lot better sound than the kettle. That’s usually a straight forward fireplace removal and fit but if its a chimney breast build or a chimney lined or something from our exclusive hole in the wall selection, that’s no problem at all, just maybe more tea!!
